Top 5 Industrial Disributor Companies To Invest In 2014

One Grand Blanc woman was so terrified by a supposed call from the IRS demanding money that she drove immediately to the bank while the aggressive caller remained on the cell phone.

But the frightened woman slyly handed the teller a note that said "Robbery in Progress."

The police arrived at the bank, according to Grand Blanc Detective Steve Hatfield, because the teller thought that's who she needed to call.

Once the scam was explained, the police officer then actually talked to the guy on the cell, Hatfield said. But the brazen con artist caller threatened to lock up the police officer if he didn't pay the back-due taxes.

10 Best Income Stocks For 2015: iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (EEM)

iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index Fund (the Fund) seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index (the Index). The Index is designed to measure equity market performance in the global emerging markets. The Index was developed by Morgan Stanley Capital International Inc. as an equity benchmark for emerging market stock performance. The Index is a capitalization-weighted index that aims to capture 85% of the (publicly available) total market capitalization. Component companies are adjusted for available float and must meet objective criteria for inclusion in the Index. The Index is reviewed quarterly.

The Fund invests in a representative sample of securities included in the Index that collectively has an investment profile similar to the Index. The Fund's investment advisor is Barclays Global Fund Advisors.

Advisors' Opinion:

Traditionally, growth-oriented investors have looked to emerging markets for fast-paced opportunities that more established, mature markets lack, and in the early and mid-2000s, emerging-market investments like the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSEMKT: EEM  ) delivered extremely strong returns to early investors in the space. In 2013, though, emerging markets performed horribly, faring far worse than U.S. stocks and markets in other developed-economy countries. Even after a good rebound in 2014, investors aren't sure what the future holds for emerging markets generally and the iShares ETF in particular.

Last October, asset allocation expert Mebane Faber put the cyclically adjusted price-to-earnings (CAPE) ratio of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF (NYSEMKT: EEM  ) at 15.3, against 21.6 for the S&P 500. Since then, the gap in valuations has widened, as the S&P 500's CAPE has risen to nearly 24. While I don't have an updated figure for the Emerging Markets ETF, the underlying index has fallen 3.7% in dollar terms over that period (even in local currency terms, it's flat), so it's a safe bet its CAPE is lower today than it was then. (The CAPE is based on average real earnings over a trailing 10-year period, which, on average, increases over time in a very stable manner.)

Small cap hair, eye, skincare and disease management stock PhotoMedex Inc (NASDAQ: PHMD), a potential peer of small capsCynosure, Inc (NASDAQ: CYNO), Cutera, Inc (NASDAQ: CUTR) andSyneron Medical Ltd (NASDAQ: ELOS), is ranked as thetwelfth most shorted stock on the Nasdaq with short interest of 38.25% according to Highshortinterest.com.PhotoMedex does face its share of headwinds as a lackluster economy and low consumer confidence limits demand for its products and services. The company is also in default of the credit facilities.

Large cap serial acquirerValeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc (NYSE: VRX) is teaming up with activist investorBill Ackman to pursue large cap Botox maker Allergan, Inc (NYSE: AGN), but stocks like Cutera, Inc (NASDAQ: CUTR), Cynosure, Inc (NASDAQ: CYNO), PhotoMedex Inc (NASDAQ: PHMD) and Syneron Medical Ltd (NASDAQ: ELOS)actually offer investors more exposure to the growing anti aging and aesthetics market (Note: See my recent article: These Small Caps Seek to Treat Your Crow Feet and Double Chin (RVNC & KYTH)). To begin with, Valeant Pharmaceuticals International has a wide focus on neurology, dermatology and infectious diseasesbut acquiring the maker of Botox won be its first foray into the aesthetic marketbecause earlier this year, the company completed its acquisition of Solta Medical Inc (NASDAQ: SLTM) -a designer, developer, manufacturer and marketer ofenergy-based medical device systems for aesthetic applications. And whileAllergan, Inc may be most well known for Botox, its actually a pretty bigcompany focused on a diverse range of areas, including ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, dermatology, neuroscience, urology and cosmeticsmeaning the following stocks offer investors better exposure to the aesthetics market:

The Q3 2014 earnings report for small cap golf stock Callaway Golf Co (NYSE: ELY), a potential peer of sporting goods or sporting equipment stocks like Toronto listedPerformance Sports Group Ltd (NYSE: PSG) and Johnson Outdoors Inc (NASDAQ: JOUT), is scheduled for after the market closes on Thursday (October 23rd). Aside from the Callaway Golf earnings report, it should be said that Performance Sports Group Ltd reported Q1 2015 on October 9th (revenues were up 28% to $197.1 million) while the estimated release date for the Q4 2014 Johnson Outdoors Inc earnings report isOctober 31st. However, Callaway Golf is the last publicly tradedpure play golf equipment stockgiving investors direct exposure to the gameespecially since Dicks Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE: DKS)recently took a $20.4 million pretax golf restructuring charge and plans to focus more attention on other sports.
